Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner


Mary Abbott, CNP

Mary Abbott, Certified Nurse Practitioner, graduated with Honors from Drexel University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing and a Post Master’s Certificate as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in general psychiatry and currently treats adults 18 years or older. Mary has a special interest in treating a variety of disorders including: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Attacks, PTSD, and Schizophrenia.

Ms. Abbott also holds a certificate as a Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She has worked with students in the classroom as an instructor for Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and clinical areas for nursing students at Hondros College and Fortis College in Columbus, Ohio. 

Prior to working in Columbus, Mary worked in Connecticut as a consultant in Geriatric Psychiatry in various nursing homes. She was promoted to Regional Manager for the consulting company where she was responsible for the staffing 25 nursing homes for psychiatric needs. Mary simultaneously continued to see her own patients and participated in monthly psychiatric educational meetings at Yale University.

Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Mary lived in Connecticut until 2009 when she moved to Ohio. She is happily married and enjoys spending time with her dog, Gus, friends, golfing and traveling.
